Given a calculator, Leo can calculate the square of a number and, with directions, the value of a number raised to an exponent. Leo understands the concept of exponents, but needs significant teacher support to add, subtract, multiply, or divide expressions with exponents (under 20% accuracy). He does not yet evaluate expressions with radicals.
